Hai Phong Museum

Hai Phong Museum is a beautiful architecture situated in the town center. It is an attractive culture center, attracting many objects to visit, study, research and relax.

Hai Phong Museum is municipal one which came in to being in the earliest time in our country, having opened for the visitors since December 20^th, 1959. At present, Hai Phong Museum preserves about fifty thousand things in nature, documents and images on the natural history, struggle history of country foundation and defence, revolution traditions, special cultural character of Hai Phong land people in the past as well as of today. The things in nature and collection of precious things exhibited in the museum are useful for the scientific research and education of traditions, taking part in the City’s construction and development.

Hai Phong Museum’s standing exhibition system uses nearly three thousand things in nature, documents, and in seventeen rooms with the total area of 1300 square metres.

The content consists of three following main parts:

I. General consists of the natural, typical famous landscapes, prehistoric people and cultural in Hai Phong.

II. Introduction of the Hai Phong people’s struggle traditions of country foundation and defence, revolutionary struggle traditions before May 13^th, 1955.

III. Introduction of Hai Phong’s achievements in the reform and socialism construction from 1955 up to now.

At the same time, Hai Phong Museum respectfully opens an exhibition room for the topic of “President Ho Chi Minh with Hai Phong Communist Party Committee, army and people”, an exhibition room for the topic on anniversaries of important events of the Country and of the City as well as introduces new collections of things in nature from Hai Phong Museum and other ones.

Hai Phong Museum usually receives people throughout the country and foreign tourists who come to visit.
